Mission: The CUNY Inclusive Economy Initiative (CIE) aims to enhance student career success through strengthening campus capabilities in fostering employer relationships and guiding students in aligning their academic and co-curricular experiences with their career goals.

Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program

The Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government and Public Affairs serves CUNY students seeking to build their professional network and develop workforce skills within New York’s public sector.

CUNY Cultural Corps

CUNY Cultural Corps provides students with paid work experience in NYC’s arts and cultural sector, creating a pipeline for students to have successful careers, while diversifying NYC’s cultural institutions. Partnering institutions include non-profit cultural organizations involved in the visual, literary and performing arts as well as public-oriented science and humanities institutions including zoos, botanical gardens and historic and preservation societies.

As NYC recovers from the pandemic, companies are hiring and will continue to hire as they adjust and adapt to our new economy. So don’t stress, we have amazing upskilling opportunities for you! CUNY Upskilling is a curated list of no-cost virtual trainings that will help you get the latest professional skills and knowledge to discover your strengths, give yourself a leg up in your job search and help you shine to prospective employers. In addition, if you are recently unemployed or dislocated, our New York State Department of Labor partnership with Coursera can help you land on your feet.

Practitioners-in-Residence Corps

CUNY graduates who took at least one Practitioners-in-Residence Corps class were twice as likely to secure a job offer than candidates who had not taken such a class.

Internship to Employment connects NYC small businesses with CUNY students with the aim of converting internships to employment.

The City University of New York is the largest urban University system in the United States with countless resources for students and alumni. In addition to opportunities offered through the Career Success Initiatives, each college has a dedicated career services team to support students in their learning journey.

Spring Forward

CUNY Spring Forward interns are bright and eager to learn new skills, gain useful work experience, and explore the many careers NYC has to offer. Spring Forward interns attend one of the 19 CUNY undergraduate colleges. They are at least 18 years old and, although they haven’t had substantial paid internship experience yet, they possess a wealth of ambition, experience, and cultural expertise. CUNY offers training to all Spring Forward interns to ensure they can hit the ground running and provides support throughout the program.
